- Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, business, or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Minimum five years of recent and relevant experience in media, communications, advertising, preferably in a higher education institution.
- Experienced and highly skilled at writing and editing, including crafting social media posts, writing web content, e-newsletters, and related items.
- Experience working and communicating effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior management, staff, students, faculty, and alumni.
- Experience developing and implementing marketing and communication plans to strengthen brand identity.
- Experience ensuring that digital communication collateral adheres to brand identity and relevant style guides.
- Demonstrated experience in website and social media design and management, including the ability to measure and assess the success of digital communications strategies.
- Experience in editing, reviewing and communicating academic and technical work to the general public.
- Experience using project management tools (eg. Asana).
- Exceptionally skilled at using social media channels (including X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube), with proven experience managing a branded account.
- Experience creating animated / video posts for social media platforms.
- Advanced proficiency using content management systems for website management (eg. Drupal).
- Advanced proficiency using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere/Rush).
- Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining editorial / content calendars.
- Demonstrated experience conducting research and collecting data from surveys, focus groups, and questionnaires for special projects.
- Experience organizing photo and video shoots.
- Proficiency at creating reports using Google Analytics and other reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of and commitment to the university's equity principles.
- Advanced proficiency using of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
- Experience directing the work of student or casual staff within a unionized environment.
- Experience using StartupTree, including designing content, data management, and promotional functions.
- Knowledge of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, including key events, resources, and promotional platforms is an asset.

Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for coordinating the marketing, communications and outreach of the Centre for Entrepreneurship. The Marketing & Communications Officer will promote the events and programs of the Centre, develop and implement marketing plans and communications strategies, and advises on best practices. The incumbent is responsible for creating, editing and producing all materials on the Centre’s print and digital platforms, including spotlighting members of the Arts & Science community engaged in entrepreneurship. The Marketing and Communications Officer will be responsible for: developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials; works closely with partners of strategic importance to design marketing and communication plans, outreach, and promotion strategies; foster relationships with internal and external contacts to coordinate marketing activities; verifies that all marketing/communication collateral adheres to brand identity and University style guides; strengthens brand profiles and works with external vendors on branding; maintains information on digital platforms including social media and websites; develops content for marketing/promotional materials including news stories, social media, and promotional presentations; creates original, published content and materials; conducts research and collects data from surveys, focus groups, and questionnaires for special projects; promotes events and programs offered by the Centre to targeted audiences; organizes photo and video shoots including the collection of waivers; analyzes data to ensure effectiveness of marketing and communication efforts and initiatives.
The Marketing & Communications Officer will utilize excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders while supporting the team and helping to achieve the Centre’s vision and goals.
