- Leads the development, execution and analysis of short and long term marketing strategies and activities to support the mission, vision and strategic plan of GHS. Activities will include general project management, service line/brand development, and community based activities.
- Develops and implements marketing and communication campaigns to build GHS brand awareness; collaborates with GHS Administration and Department Directors to develop new and expanded markets for GHS services.
- Oversees social media marketing strategy and content marketing. Develops and implements internet and GHS website marketing strategies and initiatives.
- Develops, coordinates and administers an ongoing communications program through advertising and mass media campaigns with major print, broadcast and online media.
- Actively identifies, cultivates and solicits new funding opportunities and development strategies. Responsible for planning, organizing, and leading all events and campaigns. Acts as the key liaison for all GHS Foundation activities collaborating with the GHS Foundation Board and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Serves as the GHS Foundation's community liaison.
- Writes, edits and distributes media releases; develops media materials and other tools to inform key audiences about GHS services. Responds to media inquiries.
- Builds and maintains productive working relationships with major media outlets. Identifies and cultivates media sources.
- Works with newly recruited physicians in marketing their practices. Implements tracking and evaluation methods to measure marketing effectiveness
- Coordinates, produces and/or edits a variety of internal and external publications and communications to employees, medical staff, volunteers and others as appropriate. These will include newsletters, brochures, magazines, etc.
- Manages relationships with contracted marketing/advertising agencies and other outside advisors/services. Coordinates with printers, ad agencies and other outside services to produce, print and distribute materials.
- Oversees and supports others in coordination and implementation of major GHS events and community events throughout the year including special events, open houses, dedications, health fairs/screenings, community functions, etc. Offers creative input and assistance on materials and communications being planned, designed and produced. Serves as consultant to all GHS departments to assist them in meeting their marketing and community relations needs.
- Develops and manages marketing budget, including monthly variance reports.
- Oversees development of and adherence to GHS graphic standards.
- Orients, supervises, directs, trains, and evaluates the performance of staff in order to meet performance goals.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Business, Marketing, Communications or Advertising, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- At least 3 years’ experience in marketing, preferably in healthcare industry.
- Experience in the development and implementation of fundraising programs/events.
- Solid understanding of marketing strategies and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Digital marketing tools and/or graphics software desired.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have strong public speaking skills.
- Must be able to prioritize and manage complex projects.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be organized, able to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment, and have ability to multi-task.
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Possess valid NC driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Some evening and weekend work is required. Some work of this position may be performed outside in varying climate conditions.
Position Summary:
The Marketing & Foundation Director is responsible for developing, implementing and analyzing marketing/public relation strategies. Leads the development and execution of marketing campaigns to increase the use of GHS services, develop community awareness of services, and foster goodwill/positive community image toward GHS. Responsible for the development, coordination and execution of fundraising programs/events for the Granville Health System Foundation.
