- Monitors and updates Addison social media, website, and blog content; helps prepare the weekly and monthly Town newsletters.
- Assists with the development of an overall social media strategy and editorial calendar and maintaining social media policies for the department
- Adds, removes, and edits the format and content of the Town’s special event websites.
- Writes, proofreads, edits, and disseminates content to include press releases, newsletters, blogs, information packages, and reports.
- Produces short marketing pieces and videos for internal departments; assists with other departments with graphics and website and social media management as needed.
- Responsible for taking photographs or working with professional photographers at Addison-produced events, promotional ceremonies, chamber events, etc.
- Tracks social media analytics monthly and monitors trends using various tools and platforms
- Assists other departments with graphics, website, and social media management, as well as provide marketing efforts for campaigns, events, e-mail blasts, and content
- Helps provide Town marketing assets to media for publication, coverage or digital.
- Attends City Council meetings; attends other public meetings and events as required.
- May be asked to perform additional job duties that are directly, indirectly or completely unrelated to normal job functions in the course of presenting certain Town special events.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or related field; AND
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in marketing or public relations; OR
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Safe driving record and valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Clear Criminal Background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Knowledge of public relations methods, principles, and practices.
- Knowledge of editorial writing styles.
- Knowledge of design, videography, and photo editing software.
- Skilled in designing and editing social media content, videos, and photographs.
- Skilled in and proficient in Canva and familiar with Meta Business Suite.
- Skilled in managing multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Under general supervision, works with the Director of Marketing & Tourism to develop, organize, and manage strategic Town-wide communications efforts, including but not limited to economic development, tourism, special events, parks, and public safety. Assists with overseeing the Town’s website, social media accounts, newsletters, and marketing materials, Researches, documents, prepares, and distributes written and oral communications; communicates news of city programs, events, accomplishments, and services to various internal and external audiences.

Work is performed in a standard office environment. Office is located on second floor of a two-story building without an elevator. Work is generally performed indoors in an air-conditioned facility but may also include limited exposure to outside weather conditions.
This is an exempt position; incumbent will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary to complete responsibilities.
