    • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Public/Media Relations, Social Media, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred.
    • Highly organized and creative. Excellent formal written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Professional experience with leading graphic design, photographic, video, audio, and web software creation tools, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite. Extensive Social Media experience, experience with Web Design and Web Site Management and Graphic Design experience preferred.
    • Manage website content.

    • Manage and obtain sponsorship and advertisements.

    • Manage district/school stores.

    • Produce district newsletters.

    • Collaboration with community and alumni organizations.

    • Plan/coordinate district and building family nights.

    • Maintain and foster district relationships and presence in community and media.

    • Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate a marketing plan in a manner consistent with the district’s strategic direction and the Illinois State Board of Education’s Family and Community Engagement principles..

    • Establish and drive a multi-channel marketing strategy.

    • Develop and design district initiatives

    • Design and create district logos and seasonal products

    • Develop high-quality marketing materials and assets for website, YouTube, etc

    • Support district and building leadership in high-quality production of videos and editing

    • Create a climate of cooperation between the media and district for mutual benefit in the dissemination of news and information to public audiences at the local and national levels.

    • Work to build positive relationships with local media.

    • Serve as liaison between the district and the media.

    • Organize proactive media relation’s activities, media conferences and news releases.

    • Work with the Superintendent when crisis communication is required.

    • Provide leadership for volunteer and employee efforts to inform and engage elected officials and governmental staff in support of public education.

    • Develop linkages and strong cooperative relationships with the city, businesses, chamber of commerce, community members, and other units of government.

    • Direct district promotional activities.

    • Provide leadership and direction of district branding efforts.

    • Prepare and present engagement data and statistics.

    • Develop and implement marketing/branding plans for the district.

    • Guide employees in using the necessary resources to reach specific audiences.

    • Identify funding opportunities to generate financial support through community business partnerships.

    • Increase the internal assets of the organization by providing training for employees and volunteers to strengthen their skills in communication techniques, professional tools, and resources.

    • Provide training on customer service mindset to ensure employees maintain the district’s positive public images.

    • Position Title: Marketing & Publishing Specialist (District)
      Terms of Employment: 12 Month Position
      Immediate Supervisor: Director for Data, Assesment, Innovation
      Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
      Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00PM

      Summary:

      The Marketing & Publishing Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Director for Instructional Technology. The position will manage the district website. The Marketing & Publishing Specialist will manage district sponsorship and advertisements while managing the district and school stores. The position will work closely with community and alumni groups. Produce district newsletters. The specialist will design logos and seasonal products. Design and introduce new district initiatives internally and externally. Working alongside the Communication & Social Media Specialist, they will develop timely and relevant, visually appealing designs that can be used in print and digital media. They will be responsible for managing district assets and design language and accessibility for all stakeholders. The Marketing & Publishing Specialist will be responsible for professional looking and polished productions and archival materials from the district including photo, video, graphic design, and audio productions. Plan and coordinate district family nights and assist with building family nights. Manage district calendars and ensure the website maintains up-to-date and relevant information. Maintain and foster relationships with the broader community and represent the district where needed. Use data to continuously improve and iterate our digital presence and assets.

      Qualifications:
