Job Description

- Acts as the lead writer/storyteller to produce high-quality content to be packaged and leveraged across a variety of channels including websites, blogs, newsletters, social media, email, reports, videos and print collateral.
- Maintains Ampact’s editorial style guide and brand voice.
- Edits content produced by other team members, assigns writing projects, oversees story development and copy-editing.
- Works closely with leaders, marketing teammates, and other departments to identify topics/themes and to create strategic content.
- With guidance from the Marketing/Communications Manager, develops and implements content strategy to support member recruitment and other organizational goals.
- Owns content calendars, workflows and approval processes to ensure content is published on time and amplified across channels.
- Customizes content for different personas and audiences.
- Tracks metrics to identify, amplify and replicate successful content.
- Works cross-functionally to increase followers, traffic, engagement clicks and conversions.
- Establishes and maintains workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, repurposing and retiring content.
- Develops and maintains process for curating story leads, identifying success stories and engaging members in sharing their AmeriCorps experience.
- Documents and maintain brand voice/style.
- Develops tools/resources to help other employees communicate clearly and consistently.
- Bachelor Degree in journalism, public relations, writing or equivalent related experience.
- 3-5 years experience in multi-channel content creation. Supervisory experience desired.
- Excellent writer and editor experienced with AP Style. Professional writing samples or portfolio required.
- Experience creating compelling messages for a variety of audiences and target demographics.
- Demonstrated success building traffic, engagement and meeting marketing KPIs
- Creative thinker – able to recognize and develop opportunities
- Strong cross functional collaboration and communication skills
- Team player and problem solver with proven experience working in deadline driven environment and managing multiple synchronous projects
- Thrives in environment of high growth and change
- Travel locally and statewide as needed to attend meetings
- Communicate effectively with people/groups in multiple settings within and outside the organization
- Effectively utilize existing and emerging technology to achieve required results
- Transporting of moderately heavy objects up to 25 pounds
Overview
The Marketing Content Manager is part of a team that focuses on advancing member recruitment and brand building nationwide. Primary responsibilities include curating, authoring and editing compelling stories, developing and managing editorial calendars and optimizing content for a variety of channels including blogs, newsletters, email campaigns and social media. The position supervises a Communications Specialist and may manage relationships with external consultants and vendors.
