- Assist with written copy for marketing/promotional materials including but not limited to press releases, newsletters, brochures, and digital promotions.
- Take photos at events and programs and help to manage the district's photo library.
- Assist with social media accounts for the Park District, including Facebook, Instagram, and other social media accounts.
- Design and create promotional materials under the direction of the marketing manager.

Job Title: Marketing Intern
Department: Marketing + Communications
Status: Seasonal Internship (8-12 weeks)
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Marketing + Communications Manager, the Marketing intern is provided a hands-on experience in all aspects of marketing and advertising including content creation, photography and videography, sponsorships, special event operations, customer service, and budgeting. The average workweek will consist of approximately 30 hours per week of internship-specific duties. The Marketing Intern will be paid $17 per hour. Start date may be adjusted to accomodate the availability of the selected candidate.
Required Knowledge:
Candidate must be in an academic program to achieve a degree marketing. The candidate must be self motivated and demonstrate a professional and postive attitude.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Work is generally split between an office environment and being outside at park district programs and events. This position requires the staff member to withstand exposure often present at outdoor programs and events that include but is not limited to, dust, dirt, mud, cold, heat, rain and snow. Prolonged standing during events may be required. Prolonged sitting is possible while working on various marketing projects. Other responsibilities may require this staff member to carry marketing materials or photography/videography equipment upwards of 25lbs. The Marketing Intern must exhibit good judgement, safety awareness for themselves, and problem solving skills.
