      Job Summary

      The Marketing Manager – Health Content supports all aspects of editorial production processes of state-of-the-art digital content for Mass General Brigham marketing and communications plans. They develop, edit, optimize, and distribute health and wellness content specifically targeting the patient/consumer and caregiver audiences to support a growing consumer content initiative. They specialize in SEO, audience engagement, understanding of the journey and how content fills audience specific needs, content marketing, and data-driven content creation.

      This individual is a proactive, meticulous, and data-driven problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on interdependencies and timely delivery of a range of digital content deliverables for prioritized initiatives and service lines. The Marketing Manager – Health Content facilitates a pipeline of content and communications across multiple channels. They demonstrate strong leadership and ability to carry highly complex projects to completion.

      Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Manager, the incumbent develops digital health content and helps lead editorial processes to support marketing programs representing Mass General Brigham and its various clinical and research entities. They ensure daily production processes run smoothly to execute the editorial calendar and coordinate with teams to distribute patient content and messaging across Mass General Brigham digital channels, including MassGeneralBrigham.org, email campaigns, social media, and others. The Marketing Manager – Health Content handles editorial and strategic review of content developed by marketing managers, specialists, vendors, and others.

      The position works collaboratively across the marketing team as well as relevant clinical and research departments within Mass General Brigham to ensure that digital properties successfully communicate marketing priorities, meet marketing goals, and accurately represent the brand. This person is an experienced communicator who works with the medical, research, educational and administrative hospital entities to develop, maintain, and enhance digital content.

      The Marketing Manager – Health Content is highly comfortable working both independently and collaboratively on project teams. This strategy-driven person ensures content ladders up to marketing priorities, adheres to brand and editorial style guidelines, and resonates with target audiences.

      The incumbent has demonstrated dedication to service excellence and works and effectively within all levels of the organization


      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s required, MBA or Master’s in relevant field strongly preferred

      • 5-7 years demonstrated ability producing, editing, and project managing SEO-optimized digital content — preferably with a healthcare, B2C or journalism focus

      Responsibilities:

      Content Creation & Marketing Strategy

      • Lead daily execution of health and wellness content production to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, strategic, practical, impactful on-brand content that has a consistent look and feel across multiple channels

      • Create content in a variety of formats including web pages, multimedia, and social media

      • Edit the work of digital marketing managers, vendor writers, and others to ensure content adheres to editorial style guidelines, follows SEO standard processes, represents the highest quality work, and maintains consistency in communication standards

      • Collaborate with external vendors, running production schedules and deliverables

      • Work with existing SEO tools and partner with site strategy, SEO, and social teams to optimize content and accurately tag content to track performance

      • Identify and mine appropriate source materials relevant to impactful content creation

      • Participate in QA of website releases and content creation

      • Propose digital solutions that can be successfully implemented while working within the content strategy

      • Work closely with the Sr. Manager to monitor and analyze content performance metrics, such as engagement, traffic, and conversions, to inform content optimization strategies

      • Work closely with design and user experience teams to ensure content is visually appealing, and aligns with the target demographic


      Project Management

      • Work with Sr. Marketing Manager, Director, Digital Content Marketing, colleagues, and external agencies/vendors to implement projects and adhere to timelines

      • Implement editorial calendars for department/division microsites

      • Demonstrate comfort working both independently and in project teams

      Skills/Abilities/Competencies

      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including superior writing and editing skills

      • Outstanding oral and written communication

      • Experience or familiarity with SEO writing and plain language writing, health literacy, and/or writing at different grade levels for different audiences

      • Experience with digital content creation tools. Preferred experience in publishing and managing content within Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including creating and editing pages and managing digital assets.

      • Experience with analytics tools

      • Validated professional, able to work effectively with a variety of personality types and job levels

      • Ability to move quickly in a constantly evolving and often ambiguous environment
