      The role

      Within the Essilor Instruments department, you will join the Global Product Marketing team covering a Portfolio of various products including professional Equipment, Tools, and Accessories & Consumables for Eyecare experts worldwide. Our team oversees the long-term product roadmap as well as the current product portfolio management with key impacts on the success of the division.

      The Category Manager has a key contribution to supporting sales growth through our network of subsidiaries. Strategic development of this offer has been set through existing and on-going online solutions, and you will be in charge of key digital projects, especially the rollout of “Meyestore” eCommerce platforms, and the deployment of this web shop in worldwide digital solutions within the Group. For this position, we expect you to be a sales-driven person, with experience in product marketing, and an in-depth understanding of how technology can help us to achieve our business goals. You should be methodical & have excellent time management skills.

      As a Marketing Product Category manager, you should also use your communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams inside the company (Sales, Purchasing, Logistics, Finance, IT, Sales Administration & Subsidiaries) and outside the company with partner agency & external vendors.

      Ultimately, you should be able to manage and deliver our projects’ digital lifecycle within quality, time and budget requirements.


      Job Functions

      You manage a team of 2 people covering the following topics:

      • Downstream marketing: (operational)
        • Support global sales team on existing or new product launch: pricing, distribution and positioning strategy, content for launch messaging, sales training materials, promotional campaign and point of sale collateral materials.
        • Digital marketing project management
          • New web shop - Provide end to end project management (scope, project plan, budget, coordination, progress monitoring).
          • Existing web shop – Provide solutions to subsidiaries in terms of commercial offers, marketing campaign. Seek opportunities for improvement and suggest new evolutions, features.
        • Teamwork with Marketing & Communications dedicated resource to co-develop marketing assets.
        • Monitor performance trends. Gather data from all sales organizations on digital channel sales, Google analytics, and customers worldwide to accurately estimate demand and propose sales targets and product improvement opportunities.
        • Support Sales Managers in their deals.
        • Aligned with regulatory affair team regarding update of medical device.

      • Upstream marketing: (strategic)
        • Identify gaps in the Consumables & Optometry offer.
        • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements.
        • Provide market segmentation, use cases, customer needs, product requirements and market demands to support the product development and improvement process.

      Desired Skills and Experience

      • Master Diploma in marketing
      • Good knowledge on the dynamics & environment of the optical market
      • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Product category management within a global marketing organization
      • Previous experiences with eCommerce platform would be a serious plus
      • Strong analytical skills
      • Excellent oral presentation and written communications skills
      • Ability to work cross-functionally and in a multi-cultural business environment
      • Fluent in English
