      Sugar Bowl Resort is looking for a creative, organized, and enthusiastic Marketing + Social Media Specialist to join our in-house team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, with additional project-based direction from the Marketing Team, this role works cross-departmentally to help tell the Sugar Bowl story—on the mountain and online.
      If you’re an experienced marketer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can’t wait to share mountain stoke with the world, this job might be for you. One day you might be planning out a content calendar, the next you’re helping capture photos and videos of a legendary Sierra storm to share with a local news station .

Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski cult ure, Holl ywood and Walt Disney. This special community helped bring skiing to “sunny California” since December 1939. Since then, it continues to attract adventurous winter sports enthusiasts a like.

      Who you are

      • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing , Communications, PR, Business, or a related field preferred
      • 3+ years of experience in marketing or ski industry roles
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Strong organizational and project management abilities
      • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop)
      • Comfortable using social media management tools like Later, Hootsuite, and Meta Business Suite
      • Familiar with SEO principles and blog writing
      • Basic photography and videography skills
      • Experience working on deadline in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
      • Customer service mindset and ability to manage inbound guest communication
      • Resourceful, flexible, and eager to pitch in wherever needed
      • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and occasional early mornings
      • Advanced -level skiing or snowboarding ability required
      • Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and working in deep snow and stormy conditions

      What you will do

      Social Media & Content Creation

      • Assist with managing and executing the resort’s social media calendar
      • Capture, curate, and post compelling content across channels (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.)
      • Write engaging captions, schedule posts, and respond to messages and comments
      • Monitor trends and competitor strategies; help propose new ideas to grow engagement
      • Support performance tracking by compiling weekly/monthly metrics
      • Work on cross-promotional opportunities with athletes and brand partners
      • Contribute to blog content, writing posts and sourcing images with an SEO mindset
      • Assist with on-mountain content shoots

      Campaign & Event Support

      • Contribute to the execution of marketing campaigns and materials
      • Support event planning and activation in partnership with the Events Team
      • Help manage timelines and logistics for seasonal marketing initiatives

      Customer Engagement & Communications

      • Act as the primary social/email responder for the marketing team
      • Monitor guest feedback and assist with internal guest satisfaction tracking (NPS, etc.)
      • Help test the website and online store; assist with email marketing and website updates

      Other Responsibilities

      • Report snow conditions in the afternoon , attend 3pm Snow Plan call, and occasionally assist with morning reporting
      • Maintain strong working relationships with other departments
      • Be ready to tackle anything that helps the team—from strategy to spreadsheets to snow boots ! T his could mean installing signage, delivering materials across the resort , or helping set up a tent for an event. Be prepared to pitch in where needed!
