  Summary
  • This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all persons, equipment, and physical property of Mosaic Life Care.
  • This position Officer works under the supervision of the Director, and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
  Duties
  • Conducting patrols of the buildings and grounds, ensuring adequate access control and protection of caregivers and all Mosaic Life Care properties, and able to respond to an armed threat, and bring a safe resolution to the threat or situation..
  • Conducting inspections of the facilities looking for unsafe acts and/or conditions, which threaten life safety.
  • Able to operate in a stressful environment where person/persons have experienced life threating injuries and death.
  • Controlling persons experiencing behavior that is unacceptable via non-violent physical crisis intervention techniques (CPI) or the approved Force Continuum action, or other accepted practices dependent upon the circumstances.
  • Participating in positive public relations activities by providing assistance with information, directions, and vehicles management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  Qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma, GED or HiSET equivalent required. Two years college preferably in criminal justice, or Fire Safety and or Post Certified Police Academy preferred. All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable.
  • 2 years Position dealing with the public, preferably in the Law Enforcement, Fire Safety, Military Security, Federal (DHS Department of Homeland Security) is required.
  • Chauffeurs license or ability to obtain valid chauffeur's driver`s license within 90 days of hire is required.
    Minimum Class E Chauffeurs Driver's License within 90 days of hire is required.
    Heart Saver certification within 90 days of hire is required.
    Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) within 90 days of hire is required.
  • HAZMAT Training within 90 days is required.
    Handcuffing and Baton within 90 days is required.
    Must complete the International Association of Hospital Safety and Security basic Security Officer Exam is preferred.
