      Overview

      The Spa Lilliana Massage Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to our guests. The therapist has a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities, ability to assess guest needs and customize the service within treatment protocol parameters. The therapist is knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology in order to provide wellness solutions and tailor the treatment within the scope of the license. They must hold and maintain a current Florida Massage Therapy State license.

      They must possess excellent communication skills in order to review health concerns, describe the main treatment steps and provide wellness solutions for each individual guest within the scope of the license. They must hold and maintain a current Florida Massage Therapy State license.

      Responsibilities

      • Associates must always be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow associates.
      • Understand and be thoroughly familiar with the guest journey in order to create a superior guest experience.
      • Set up/break down treatment room prior according to opening and closing procedures according to checklists.
      • Be on time for each shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
      • Note guest preferences during the visit and note for future visits.
      • Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
      • Possess excellent communication skills in order to review health concerns, describe the main treatment steps and provide wellness solutions for each individual guest within the scope of the license.
      • Effectively inform and educate our guests about specific wellness concerns tailored to each guest.
      • Have a flexible schedule, supporting the needs of the business.
      • Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
      • Be knowledgeable and well informed of treatments, equipment, products, and retail items to ensure guest comfort.
      • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by Florida Statutes and the spa’s policies and procedures.
      • Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required.
      • Assist with stock takes and backbar inventory.
      • Perform event and group services, such as chair massage as needed
      • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
      • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
      • Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
      • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests.
      • Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
      • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
      • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.
      • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
      • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
      • Assist locker attendant and receptionist as needed.
      • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.

      Qualifications

      • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
      • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
      • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
      • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
      • Attend all hotel-required meetings and training.
      • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
      • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform.
      • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
      • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
      • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
      • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
      • Must be able to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
      • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information.
      • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
      • Perform other duties as requested by management.
      • Always maintain a friendly and warm demeanor.
      • Hygiene is key in this environment due to the proximity of working with the clients. At no time is cigarette smoke allowed to be on the hands, clothes, or breath of a spa employee during a shift.
      • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
      • Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
      • High School Diploma or higher
      • Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Florida - current
      • 2-year experience as a massage therapist
      • Resort experience preferred.
      • Bi-lingual preferred.
