  Job Summary

  Dominion Energy currently has a vacancy at Williams Steam Plant, located in Goose Creek SC, for a Material Fuel Handler. Responsibilities include:

  • Loading and unloading of coal.
  • Operating all equipment associated with the process including stacker reclaimer, rail car positioner, and rail car dumper.
  • Qualifying to use and proficiently operating heavy equipment including coal dozers, front end loader, skid steer, backhoe, and forklifts.
  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks on material handling equipment.
  • Housekeeping in the material handling area and miscellaneous utility work at the facility.
  • This position performs heavy lifting up to 50 lbs., working in a noisy and dusty environment, working outside, and in inclement weather.
  • Incumbents may also be required to work rotating (12 hour) shifts which will include holidays and overtime and must be available for call-out work as needed.

  The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below.

  • Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below.

  Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be in good physical condition to perform work duties safely.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a noisy and dusty environment, work outside, and in inclement weather.
  • The successful candidate must be mechanically oriented.
  • Incumbents will also be required to occasionally wear a respirator and maintain annual respirator requalification.

  
  Preferred:

  • Applicants with experience in operating heavy equipment such as dozers and loaders are preferred.

  Education Requirements

  Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) is required.

  Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

  A valid driver's license.
