      About the job

      Performs various duties in receiving, stocking, picking, packing, quality control, and shipping of products within the warehouse or manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to operate equipment such as forklift, or other motorized vehicles and machinery.

      Tasks

      • Operate lift truck or manual pallet jack to move and hoist products from one area to another
      • Operate lift truck or manual pallet jack to load and unload product from inbound and outbound trailers
      • Ability to understand, follow, and apply technical instructions, written and verbal
      • May build customized crates to ship finished goods to customer
      • Assist department lead as needed
      • Receiving, processing, and stocking inbound products in their appropriate location and ensures accuracy
      • Transferring stock to and from locations within the warehouse
      • Pulling and packaging multiple items to create a kit for certain orders
      • Handling and loading multi-sized packages onto outbound truck
      • Auditing orders and correcting when appropriate
      • Must be able to fill in/float at other workstations as needed when levels are low
      • Must be able to assist in training of lower-level material handlers as needed
      • Pull and issue components via PBS transactions
      • Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance
      • Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing items, fix incorrect shipments and trouble shoot any damaged product
      • Breaking down and properly disposing of packaging materials
      • Keeping work area and facility clean, neat, and organized at all times
      • Utilizing appropriate tools and equipment as needed for all responsibilities
      • Reliable attendance is a must and willingness to work various shift hours as assigned.
      • Other duties as assigned

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
      • Basic Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
      • Minimum Reasoning Skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
      • Computer Skills –Basic computer skills, interactions with Warehouse Management System
      • Other Knowledge – Ability to navigate through Windows. Ability to use RF scanners. Excellent time management and organizational skills
