- Document and file completed work.
- Physically conduct searches and locate material throughout the shipyard.
- Confer with Planning, Material Management Team to determine optimum method to relieve material shortage
- Confer with Warehouse personnel and Material Handlers to search for and locate material; correct BAAN location and quantity discrepancies
- Perform assessment of excess material to determine disposition as Return to Stock, Scrap or Project Transfer: Confer with appropriate subject matter expert to complete disposition.
- Investigate and communicate material discrepancies (over/under/not required) to production orders and verify resolution between Manufacturing and Planning.
- Actively pursue best practices to develop and improve material control and deliveries.
- Support lean methods of improvement.
- Must be able to climb ladders, cross elevated gangways and navigate confined spaces.
- Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Some college or technical school is preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints is preferred.
- Computer skills including familiarity with MS Excel, Word.
- Must have strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills.
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Report unsafe conditions or acts to the appropriate supervisor;
- Report all injuries, no matter how minor, to your supervisor or First Aid Department;
- If a job cannot be performed safely, do not proceed. Report to your supervisor immediately;
- Do not operate or make repairs to tools, equipment, or machinery unless specifically authorized;
- Report any tool, equipment and machinery malfunction or damage immediately. Do not operate tools, equipment or machinery that is not in proper working order;
- Utilize the required personal protective equipment and keep it in good condition;
- Do not wear loose clothing, rings, necklaces or other jewelry if they can become caught or tangled in moving equipment or machinery in the work area;
- Do not work while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs;
- Avoid horseplay and other behavior that could lead to injury.

Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a Material Coordinator at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for resolving manufacturing material shortages resulting from loss or damage after the material has been planned, purchased and released to manufacturing. Facilitate accurate and timely reassignment of raw, purchased or fabricated material between warehouse, SOC's and contractors. Investigate material shortages seeking root cause and working with management team for corrective action. Assist Manufacturing Material Handlers and Foreman with material hand-off and dedicated storage locations.
