- Release planning messages, purchase orders, work orders, and inventory transfer requests to prevent and resolve part shortages
- Support continuous improvement projects for fabrication and support teams
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, procurement, and other stakeholders to improve efficiencies, processes, and data integrity pertaining to the flow of materials and information
- Analyze, forecast, and report on supply chain data using SQL, Excel, and Power BI
- Identify and execute on opportunities for improvements in cost, quality, and lead time of parts
- Resolve blockers that prevent production or supply chain from delivering on time
- Follow up on purchase and work order promise dates
- MRP system updates, such as creating and cancelling work orders and adding purchase order notes
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience working in a supply chain, production, engineering, or planning position (6+ years of experience working in a supply chain, production, engineering, or planning position will be considered in leu of degree)
- APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society), Lean Six Sigma, or similar certifications
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, cross functional environment, both independently and in a team
- Demonstrated efficiency in time management, interpersonal communication, and organization
- Strong skills in data analysis using Excel, SQL (Structured Query Language), and Power BI
- 5+ year planning and/or buying experience
- Great communication skills
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment
- Strong computer and analytical skills including proficiency in spreadsheets
- Ability to multi task and prioritize work and simultaneous projects
- Detail oriented, organized, and demonstrate a high sense of urgency
- Experience working with complex manufacturing in an aerospace, automotive, or related industry
- Strong work ethic and a “can-do” problem-solving attitude
- Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying light to moderately heavy materials or equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Valid driver’s license
- Work schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required

MATERIAL PLANNER
This is a high-profile, cross functional position that plays an integral role in supporting the design, build, and test of flight and non-flight hardware. Join the team as a Material Planner to manage supply and demand signals for the Rocket Development and Test Facility, balancing fast-paced development builds and rigorous production requirements. You will work closely with a full spectrum of partners, including engineering, purchasing, supply chain, technicians, and suppliers. From pushing the limits of rocket reusability to building the launch vehicle that will make humanity a spacefaring civilization, your specific skill set and passion are needed to make it happen!

Pay range:
Material Planner/Level I: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00/per year
Material Planner/Level II: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00/per yearYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
