Through this role, not only will you boost your capability and networks, but you will also be an essential part of Akzo Nobel’s young and significant pillar that runs most of its supply chain activities.

      From our Above Market Planning hub (AMP) in Sassenheim, supply planners collaborate with main stakeholders in demand, manufacturing, logistics, procurement, as well as external suppliers to ensure a high service rate for all. Our planners make sure to integrate their top-notch supply chain abilities in setting a plan for our global sites to satisfy demand, while taking complex constraints into account.

      Key responsibilities

      Production Planning: you develop and own the plans for a paints/coatings production site, focusing on serving customer demand while making efficient use of resources on site
      Material Planning: you ensure the raw materials and packaging needed to achieve the production plan are available on time. You develop strong relationships and manage performance with suppliers and procurement.
      Products for Resale (PFR) Planning: you ensure availability of the products that we sell alongside our paints and coatings but that we do not produce ourselves, such as spray paints, paint samples, brushes or tape.
      Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP): specific for Automotive & Specialty Coatings you ensure the optimized distribution of products from the central warehouse to the different warehouses across a complex global distribution network.

      The supply planning teams in our AMP department are a highly diverse mix of over 60 supply chain enthusiasts with over 20 different nationalities from across the globe. As diverse as our backgrounds and identities are, we are strongly connected via a shared mindset that can be characterized as ambitious, proactive, informal and above all collaborative

      What do you bring?

      • Master’s degree in Supply Chain or Operations, or alternative Master with a convincing motivation for supply chain
      • Strong communication and collaboration skills
      • A sharp analytical mind, able to translate challenges into numbers and numbers into conclusions
      • Strong communication and collaboration skills
      • An open-minded and flexible approach necessary to learn and succeed within our dynamic, multicultural environment
      • Excellent written and spoken English and a second language. Not essential but a clear advantage:
      • Working experience in supply chain
      • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP
      • Fluency in another language spoken in certain European countries


      For this role it is important that you already are located in the Netherlands
