  Ford Motor Company is elevating the role of its Material Planning & Logistics Supervisors by designating them as "Process Coach - MP&L." These skilled individuals are responsible for promoting standardization and driving continuous improvement within the Ford Production System. The Material Planning & Logistics teams strive to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of materials to customers.

  Core Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met through coaching standardized work, verifying lines are running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts.
  • Responsible for leading and assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Monitor andon occurrences and be the first responder as secondary support.
  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities/tasks.
  • Responsible for administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents.
  • Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility and for the department, ensuring proper material flow from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the production line feed location, to the delivery of finished product to customers.
  • Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources in order to appropriately cover material handling responsibilities.
  • Support Ford Production System and synchronous material flow through lean manufacturing practices.
  • Ensure flawless introduction of new parts to production through proactive planning and cross-functional communication.
  • Identify data gaps in Control Material Management System (missed production counts, etc.) and take corrective actions.
  • Monitor andon occurrences and be the first responder as secondary support.

  Basic Qualifications:

  • College Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience as Supervisor in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends (2 weeks days/2 weeks afternoons)
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, enompassing strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Build strong interpersonal relationships with hourly team members, union, and management teams

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Management
  • Two (2) years of experience in Material handling or manufacturing assembly experience
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Constraint Management principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate superior leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

  Note: Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.
