      Overview

      The Materials Associate assists with the daily ordering, pulling, receiving, delivering, and replenishment of supplies in order to meet department and patient needs. This role also helps count inventory, enters inventory data correctly, and checks the expiration date of inventory in order to keep inventory up-to-date and usable in the department. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 5:00pm-9:00pm.

      Responsibilities

      • Supports with accepting, verifying, and entering receipts for all shipments. Assists with package counts to ensure they are accurate and shipments acceptable, if not will follow outline refusal protocols. Inventories, reorder, pulls, restocks, rotation of inventory, check for expiration dates for areas of responsibility.
      • Ensures verification of receipt of in-bound supplies, out-bound shipment processing, data entry, and restocking within specified time frames as assigned to meet department/patient needs.
      • Helps expedite products to respective areas and/or storeroom locations. Update and maintains par levels as necessary, makes adjustments to par forms and labels as mandated.
      • Supports with obtaining signature for deliveries and document reasons for non-delivery. Responsible for inventory accuracy, cycle counting and electronic supply replenishment.
      • Helps ensure that the work area is safe, equipment is secured, and the area is free of clutter.
      • Assists with ensuring that linens are collected and transported within departmental/infection control guidelines for both clean and soil cart as assigned. Regularly supports the sorting and distribution of clean and soiled linens in order to replenish par levels as required for daily operations.
      • Adheres to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols as communicated by department policies and Infection Prevention guidelines.
      • Adheres to the environmental and infection control standards established by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and other regulatory agencies.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

      EXPERIENCE:Required: Service-related experience or prior job experience.
