You will be a member of our technical services staff, working with customers, engineers, equipment technicians and sales specialists to provide metallurgical applications support. You will work alongside colleagues in the preparation of metallurgical samples, development of new preparation procedures, testing of new consumables and equipment, and document and editing. You will work with Allied's metallurgical sample preparation equipment, advanced optical microscopes, sophisticated imaging systems, and hardness testing products.

Responsibilities :

• Develop metallurgical sample preparation procedures using Allied equipment and consumables.
• Write and edit scientific documentation, including lab reports, application notes, articles, papers, and presentations.
• Use optical microscopy to obtain images suitable for use in documentation creation and analysis techniques.
• Use imaging software to perform metallurgical analysis techniques, such as grain size analysis, multiphase analysis and layer thickness analysis.
• Perform testing on incoming products, new equipment and consumables.
• Required computer skills: MS Office Suite
• Ability to handle multiple ongoing projects and prioritize activities.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise manner, and willingness to pursue emerging technologies as needed for the organization.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.
• Ability to write reports, chart data and provide other technical documentation is a plus.
• Previous experience with metallographic sample preparation, microscopy & imaging is a plus.
