- M.Sc or B.Sc degree in mechanical engineering (ideally focusing on materials engineering)
- Experience in material investigation methods (metallography, microscopy, mechanical/corrosion/wear testing)
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Good teamworking and problem-solving skills
- Good general knowledge of materials and heat treatment methods
- Positive attitude and ability to learn new skills quickly
- Work experience from equivalent field
- Good command of Finnish language is an advantage

We are looking for a Materials Expert with a main responsibility in performing material investigations in our STH Materials Laboratory. The location for this position is in Vaasa, Finland. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work although most of the tasks will require on-site presence. This is a temporary position for maximum of 8 months.
Your role and responsibilities:
As a Material Expert your work will include metallographic sample preparation, optical/SEM microscopy, hardness measurements, NDT-tests and finally reporting of the investigation results. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of R&D Materials&Tribology team with diverse expertise.
