This position serves as a Materials Handler for the Tucson VA Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) in Tucson, Arizona, with responsibility for the proper receipt, storage, and issuance of all supplies and equipment. The employee performs warehouse work involving receiving, storing, and shipping materials and equipment; loading and unloading materials; maintaining inventory logs; and preparing shipping documents.Duties

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Requires working on hard surfaces, in tiring and uncomfortable positions, and standing for long periods of time. Routinely engages in stooping, bending, turning, and lifting heavy supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
Work is performed in a warehouse setting. Work is done inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Employee is regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls and injury from falling stock. The work may require wearing protective clothing such as steel-toed shoes, hardhat, and other safety equipment as necessary.
