      Job Summary

      Position responsible for receiving and distributing materials in the Materials Management department. Also responsible for reconciling and maintaining appropriate records. Acts as a resource and trains lower level attendants.

      Minimum Qualifications

      Education: High School Diploma or GED, preferred

      Licenses/Certifications: (None)

      Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

      • Two (2) to three (3) years experience in a materials management role
      • Basic math and computer skills
      • Ability to work with minimal supervision
      • Demonstrated ability and willingness to take initiative

      Principal Accountabilities

      • Accepts delivery of merchandise requisitioned for the facility and updates the computerized inventory control system, logging transactions and maintaining master filing system.
      • Counts, compares and documents differences between total number of items received and total number of items on the shipping bill; checks and reports receipt of damaged materials. Attaches receiving documents to merchandise and delivers to appropriate department.
      • Loads and stocks materials for the hospital including supply modules and exchange carts; returns empty carts to loading dock. Stocks and maintains back-up inventories in materials holding area filling and distributing orders as requested.
      • Assists in establishing appropriate par-levels; maintains inventory system of supplies and equipment for various departments.
      • Monitors product recalls/warnings and communicates information to appropriate personnel.
      • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors, adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity of service.
      • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
