- Combination of mornings, afternoons, and evenings (as scheduled)
- Friday/Saturday rotation (as scheduled)
- Sundays 1:00-5:00p (as assigned)
- Leads staff in completing essential duties of library operations in the areas of materials and customer service.
- Responsibilities include hiring, orienting, coaching, managing and evaluating the assigned team.
- Assists with problem solving at local and system level.
- Assumes responsibility for the operation of the location in the absence of a manager.
- Trains staff to perform job duties and tasks including applying and interpreting policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Trains staff on use and troubleshooting of library technologies and equipment.
- Organizes and schedules team and its activities. Identifies opportunities for synergy, efficiency and integration.
- Supervises volunteers as assigned.
- Serves as support to staff in resolving customer disputes.
- Provides direct customer service. Maintains personal skills to ensure quality of service.
- Performs additional duties as assigned including serving on task forces, committees, etc.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- 3-5 years of experience in libraries, customer service or similar field required. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Acts with the customer in mind using information gained from interacting with the customers and data. Meets the expectations and requirements of external and internal customers.
- Ability to operate library technology including personal computer, email, software programs (i.e. Windows/Microsoft Office) and other job-related equipment and systems.
- Ability to utilize reliable transportation to promptly report to job assignment and other locations, per job requirements.
Job Title: Materials Services Supervisor (40 hrs./Full-time/Exempt)
Location: Reynoldsburg
Starting Pay Range: $48,110.40-$64,604.80 annually (commensurate with experience)

About the Position:
As a Materials Services this position is responsible for leading and supervising a team of materials services staff in order to achieve established library strategies.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, and residences or commercial vehicles (e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, and/or working in moderate outdoor weather conditions). Work requires occasional lifting or pushing of up to 50 lbs. and the frequent lifting or pushing of up to 20 lbs.
