      Job Description:

The Manager Accounting and Financial Reporting assists with Southwest Accounting by cl osing the books each month, creating financial statements, filing quarterly/annual r eports with the Securities and Exchange Commission, assessing and implementing new accounting and reporting regulations and working with the Company's external auditors. This role collaborates with Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury, Investor Relations, Tax and Controller Operations, Technology, and Marketing/Commercial to ensure the Company complies with all related accounting/finance laws and regulations. T h e Manager Accounting and Financial Reporting is a skilled communicator ready to assist the Vice President Accounting and Financial Reporting and help drive the future of Southwest.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week.       Responsibilities
      • Assist the VP Accounting & Financial Reporting direct Finance department in areas of sales accounting, passenger revenue accounting, including business partner accounting, corporate accounting and financial reporting
      • Accountable for all major technology projects and system activities impacting these areas
      • Provide leadership, direction, and ownership of Continuous Improvement activities and automation opportunities impacting the areas noted
      • Assist the VP Accounting & Financial Reporting in providing guidance to and being a resource for all Company departments with regards to the impact of technical accounting rules and concepts to business processes, projects, and strategies executed
      • Follow, interpret, and incorporate proposed and newly adopted accounting pronouncements, including determining their impact on the Company and full implementation into the business when applicable
      • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

      Education
      • Required: High School Diploma or GED
      • Required: Bachelor's Degree

      Experience
      • Preferred: Knowledge of SEC financial reporting regulatory rules for public companies
      • Preferred : Knowledge of SAP financial.
      • Demonstrated experience leading multiple teams or functions through subordinate Leaders
      • Advanced level Business Acumen in functional area with understanding of broad business impacts
      • Expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
        • Financial reporting (including SEC reporting)
        • Accounting

      Licensing/Certification
      • Required: CPA

      Physical Abilities
      • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
      • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
      • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

      Other Qualifications
      • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
      • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
      • Must be at least 18 years of age
      • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
      • Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information

      Pay & Benefits

      Competitive market salary from $204,300 - $227,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunity for future pay increases based on performance and market movement. For eligible leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
