WHAT TO EXPECT

Working within Solihull Body Construction CME department, you will provide production shift support to maintain delivery and dimensional quality targets and drive dimensional problem resolution and quality improvement.

The department also provides support to the CME engineers, Manufacturing, PCPA & VRT.

You will be a key team member actively supporting the measurement control plan process for our vehicles.

Using your knowledge of co-ordinate measurement systems and your ability to interpret SPC data, you will provide support for the CME department in identifying quality improvements.

You will be expected to work on a shift pattern.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

• Set up, align and measure individual panels and assemblies.
• Write CMM programs to support all inspection activities.
• Store programs according to applicable work instructions.
• Use CATIA to generate relevant engineering data.
• Run existing programs as necessary.
• Generate & understand dimensional data.
• Create dimensional data reports.
• Schedule maintenance for CMMs as required.
• Design and fabricate basic fixtures and tools necessary for the parts being measured.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge and Experience

• Knowledge of measurement and co-ordinate systems
• Ability to analyse and interpret dimensional data.
• Attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Computer and Software skills (DDMS, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to report clearly, coordinate and handover across a 3-shift system.
