- Responsible for performing work in the Fabrication Shop, including fabricating parts using various techniques such as assembling, welding, drilling, grinding, bending, sawing, painting and sand blasting.
- Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings to manufacture parts and equipment.
- Must have experience with TIG welding, MIG welding, and stick welding.
- Must be able to work in a challenging environment to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Fastens steel members to cable of hoist, using chain, cable or rope.
- Guides structure being lifted into proper position and aligns rivet holes with corresponding holes.
- Drives drift pins through rivet holes.
- May help with lifting, positions and securing materials and work pieces during installation.
- Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment using plumb bob and level. Bolts align members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded in place.
- Bolts aligned structures to keep them in position until permanently riveted, bolted or welded into place.
- Uses Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc or Shielded Metal Arc welding processes.
- Fills holes or corrects mistakes in lead pieces and makes bulges thin and curves in metal work pieces.
- Manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal. May clean or degrease weld joint or workplace, using wire brush, portable grinder, or chemical bath.
- Remove excess weld, defective weld Material, slag and spatter, using carbon arc gouge, hand scrapper, grinder or power chipper.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Applicants will be taught how to do precision alignments, bearing, motor, and gearbox replacements.

Mechanic Welder/Fabricator
This person must be able to work in all areas of a weld/fabrication shop environment to manufacture parts and/or assemblies per customer specifications.

Qualifications Required for this Position:
Certification – Must pass a schedule 10 stainless pipe tig out in the 6G position and a schedule 160 carbon pipe with tig root and hot pass, then weld out 7018.
Education – no minimum education requirements.
Pay - Based on experience and mechanical background.
