      About the role

      We are looking for a Mechanical Craftsman – Mobile Maintenance (Mine) to join the Kennecott Asset Management department in a Heavy Equipment Maintenance role. This is a craftsman role based in Salt Lake City, Utah focused on improving availability, reliability, and processes around maintenance of heavy mobile equipment.

      This role is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment and further develop your technical skill set. Working a 4 on 4 off roster and reporting to the Supervisor - Maintenance, you will be:

      • Actively engaging with employees in discussions and initiatives that keep everyone safe and promote the “Zero Harm” safety culture
      • Maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical components on large haulage trucks / support equipment in accordance with MSHA standards and standard work instructions
      • Working closely with Maintenance Support in developing safe and efficient standard work instructions, maintenance improvement efforts, and cost saving initiatives

      What you’ll bring

      To succeed in this role, you will have:

      • High School Diploma or GED
      • A constant commitment to approaching tasks safely and intelligently
      • Ability and commitment to work rotating 12-hour shifts (Both days and nights)
      • Relevant experience, preferably in heavy industry/mining or a mechanical trade
      • State welding/mechanical licensing or technical trade training/schooling
      • Competency in welding, basic hydraulics, and mechanical/electrical fundamentals and best practice
