      We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team! You will perform engineering tasks including conceptualization, idea development, engineering calculations, design, functional testing and project implementation to provide working prototypes/ mechanical hardware/ engineering solutions for all technical functions.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

      • Uses Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) tools to generate 3D models of parts and/or assemblies to ensure proper form, fit, and function.

      • Performs mechanical systems designs, engineering calculations and related engineering analyses to determine best solutions.

      • Investigates, specifies and selects the raw materials, components and hardware required to meet customer requirements.

      • Performs prototyping, assembly simulations, and tolerance stack calculations.

      • Provides mechanical design consultation for internal and external customers

      • Works with Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems engineering teams to generate design concepts to meet customer requirements

      Qualifications & Competencies

      To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

      • Self-motivated to drive tasks to completion.

      • Ability to execute tasks within a defined cost and scope.

      • Experience with all phases of design, including conceptualization, development, testing, refinement, documentation and fabrication.

      • Familiarity with mechanical packaging for electrical devices.

      • Familiarity with standard design practices including drafting standards (ANSI 14.5 and ISO), tolerance analysis, and process documentation.

      • Use of engineering design principles including strength of materials, mechanism analysis.

      • Proficient using SolidWorks.

      • Proficient with FEM analysis, preferably with ABAQUS Software

      • Computer proficiency level using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)

      • Ability to interact with both internal and external team members on a regular basis

      • Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices

      Education and/or Experience

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

      • Five (5) years of relevant Mechanical Design Engineer experience

      Citizenship Requirements

      Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.

      Salary Range:

      $60,500.00-$80,850.000
