      The Radar Design Department designs some of the most innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world and is seeking a motivated entry level Mechanical Engineer with experience in hardware design and analysis to join our team. The position will primarily support design, development, and production focused around phased array antennas and supporting structures, power, and cooling sub-systems.

      The key responsibilities for this position include technical problem solving, along with technical management in the development of new hardware. Senior engineers will be required to make sound technical judgements, provide supervision and direction to junior engineers and manage to cost and schedule requirements of assigned tasks.

      This position is an onsite role and the selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule.

      What You Will Do

      • Mechanical design, analysis and documentation of hardware and systems
      • Design and Documentation support utilizing engineering tools, Adobe, and MS office suite.
      • Conducts detailed design work, assembly layout and the creation of CADD models in CREO and PDM, including presentations as needed.
      • Working as part of a small team during product development, part and drawing creation, drawing release, and drawing change incorporation
      • Creatively apply mechanical engineering knowledge to efficiently solve complex design problems, and make sound and rationale data oriented technical conclusions.
      • Providing factory and supplier support domestically and internationally
      • This position will require collaborating with other mechanical engineers, designers, and structural / thermal analysts, as well as engineers from other disciplines, along with customers and program management.

      Qualifications You Must Have:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
      • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
      • Experience using CAD software, such as CREO or equivalent.
      • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

      Qualifications We Prefer:

      • Experience with CREO and Product Data Management (PDM).
      • Understanding of electronics packaging, radar antenna design, or precision systems through class projects, professional internships, or academic research.
      • Efficient and disciplined process execution behaviors coupled with agility of thought and knowledge of how to appropriately tailor processes to fit the task
      • Demonstrates ability to apply academic engineering knowledge to solve design issues.
      • Ability to multi-task and successfully manage multiple activities while making sound technical decisions at any given time
      • Strong presentation and technical writing skills combined with knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools

      The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
