      Job Summary:

      Belden Inc. is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Broadband Solutions Divisions. This position is responsible for the design of new and existing products and provide engineering support on applicable product lines to both internal and external customers. This is an onsite position located in East Syracuse, NY and reports to the Engineering Manager.

      You will make a difference in the following ways:

      • Design, develop, and enhance products related to the telecommunications industry and the assigned department utilizing SolidWorks.
      • Work on driving cost out of the designs of high-volume products, this includes preparing and submitting target designs and project schedules to meet cost reduction goals.
      • Serve as an integral part of new product development teams and work from conception through production.
      • Participate in product design reviews.
      • Prototyping /modeling design.
      • Test mechanical and electrical properties to ensure quality and reliability. Provide support in the field as needed.

      What you bring:

      • Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with three (3) or more years of design experience.
      • Knowledge & Skills - designing and creating fiber optic components. design experience in plastic injection molding and metal stamping.
      • Knowledge & Skills - CAD programs, SolidWorks experience a plus. Prior injection molding and metal stamping experience a plus.

      Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $81,900 - $122,900 annually, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant#s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
