      Job Title: Mechanical Drafter


      Job Description

      We are seeking a talented Drafter to design and prepare detailed drawings of RF Shielded Enclosures and Anechoic Chambers. This role involves creating comprehensive plans for architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and structural components according to client specifications.

      Responsibilities

      • Draw rough and detailed scale plans for modular components and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data.
      • Operate computer drafting equipment such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce modular designs, working drawings, shop drawings, shipping lists, charts, and forms as required.
      • Produce detailed, layout, and assembly drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to ensure the designed equipment can be manufactured in a logical and production-friendly manner.
      • Analyze critical interfaces between components and designs for appropriate assembly.
      • Prepare material shipping lists for projects and manage revision levels.
      • Maintain and update CAD drawings to reflect changes and modifications in existing projects.
      • Work directly with engineers and project managers to determine the most logical and cost-effective designs to meet requirements.
      • Order materials required to meet job requirements.
      • Examine engineering drawings and bills of material of structural components, assemblies, and installations to ensure accuracy, adherence to design standards, and detect errors in design.
      • May act as a 'checker', carefully examining drawings, details, and shipping lists to minimize omissions and errors.
      • Detail and check small to large projects, being able to take a project from start to finish with speed and accuracy.
      • Perform at a high level to maintain project schedules with minimal checking and supervision.
      • Track and manage drafting hours per project and report any overages or variances to the Drafting Manager.
      • Ability to switch between projects on short notice as required.

      Essential Skills

      • Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
      • Experience in drafting and modeling for multiple trades including architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical designs.
      • Knowledge of ASME codes and standards.
      • Good organizational and planning skills.
      • Strong oral and written communication skills.
      • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
      • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
      • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
      • Mechanical aptitude.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • 2-year associate degree.
      • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment creating 3D and 2D models and drawings.
      • Architectural/structural drafting experience is a plus.
      • Experience with shielding is a huge plus.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
