      Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

      Job Description

      As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work closely with engineers and designers to support the design and review of special and mega data center ETO projects. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement designs at factories in Charlotte and Mexico, supporting production builds, resolving factory issues, and capturing product improvements during production. You will contribute to the development of cutting-edge chiller systems that define the future of sustainable cooling solutions.

      Responsibilities

      • Lead the integration of mechanical system designs into chiller and split system new product development programs.
      • Develop solutions that meet local and global market needs by integrating multiple technologies.
      • Conduct thermodynamic modeling and optimization of chiller system design.
      • Collaborate with service and operations teams to effectively launch designs into production.
      • Develop chiller system architecture that meets product development requirements.
      • Confirm product design performance, capability, and reliability in engineering product test laboratories.
      • Collaborate with product marketing teams to develop product requirements and ensure product satisfaction upon launch.
      • Execute tests for systems, sub-systems, and components, analyzing test results relative to design specifications.
      • Follow design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs.
      • Produce parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems, or work orders.
      • Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to evaluate system performance under various conditions.
      • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
      • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in thermal systems engineering.

      Essential Skills

      • Product design and commercialization
      • Knowledge of HVAC systems, particularly water-cooled or air-cooled products.
      • Experience in ASME pressure vessel design.
      • Ability to learn new technology quickly.
      • Collaborative demeanor and good communication skills.
      • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 2+ years of experience.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years of mechanical engineering design experience or Master’s degree with 3-6 years of experience.
      • Project leadership experience.
      • Experience in new product development, service, or aftermarket space.
      • Strong communication skills, primarily in English.
      • Leadership and teamwork skills.

      Work Environment

      This role is situated within a global platform for chiller systems, encompassing engineering, materials, design, and manufacturing all onsite. You will engage in high-profile projects and special assignments, with orders often shipped globally to regions such as the Middle East, US, and Canada. You will work with engineering, design, supply chain, scheduling, material planners, quality, and manufacturing teams, as well as customers and vendors. The company is transitioning to SAP systems.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
