SUMMARY
Responsible for designing factory automation equipment across broad market sector;
semiconductor, medical, automotive, aerospace, etc. This position will perform design
engineering work from concept stage to production. An ideal candidate will be a selfmotivated
professional, well experienced in the field with ability to multitask on various
projects in various phases. You will be working in a very dynamic, fast-paced environment
with short schedules and tight deadlines without compromising accuracy of work.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop concepts, present idea’s, design, calculate, budget and schedule solutions for
sub-system and system factory automation.
• Provides analytical calculations for pressure, flow, pressure drops, etc.
• Must be familiar with materials, process, and other pertinent specifications needed for
the design, drafting & manufacturing of sheet metal enclosures and other components.
• Prepare 3D layouts/models based on design specifications and create detailed drawings
of parts based on the layout/model
• Generate assembly drawings and Bills of Material from assembly models
• Lead design review presentations with internal and external customers for design
discussion and approval.
• Work closely with supply chain and account managers in component selection for
achieving optimal cost and lead time for the systems
• Support Manufacturing organization during system build to ensure strict adherence to
design, customer specifications and Industry Standards.
• Work with Field Service personnel to provide onsite engineering support to customers
for installation, operation, retrofit and repair of designed and manufactured systems.
• Design to cost goals and design for manufacturability and testability
• Will be required to occasionally work outside business hours to meet timelines

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Minimum 7 yrs. of experience in OEM and factory automation design and engineering.
• Must be familiar with system design cycle from concept through detailing and release for
production.
• Proficiency and current experience with Solidworks 3D CAD is required, Pro-E and Inventor
experience will be a plus
• General understanding of drawing standards, formatting, and dimensioning included basic
GD&T
• General understanding and some experience of electrical cable harness components and
design
• Show initiative and a sense of ownership by learning to be self-sufficient at your task, but
quick to ask questions when uncertain
• Demonstrates a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals and
deadlines
• Presents a professional, positive image that reflects well on the organizationEDUCATION
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in related marketsEXPERIENCE
• Minimum 7 yrs. of experience in OEM and factory automation design and engineering.What can you expect
The work environment characteristics include periodic noise increases when in the Manufacturing facility, although the office environment is usually quiet and respectful. Safety glasses and other required safety protection should be worn when out in the manufacturing facility, which may vary depending on the area you are working/visiting.
