Design and layout complete paint finishing systems, including equipment sizing, selection, and cost estimation for major projects.

Review project scopes with Sales Managers and Sales Representatives to ensure system designs meet customer process requirements.

Communicate directly with customers, paint and chemical suppliers, and project stakeholders for technical input and alignment.

Utilize sound technical and economic judgment to maximize accuracy and output while providing timely estimates.

Develop cost-effective, innovative designs that lower customer costs through optimized system components and shop assembly opportunities.

Prepare detailed specifications for subcontracted and purchased items to ensure supplier clarity and performance.

Share best practices and lessons learned with team members to improve department efficiency and reduce proposal cycle times.

Support the Sales team through technical guidance, customer meetings, proposal reviews, and travel as necessary.

Remain involved throughout engineering and installation phases to provide design interpretation, estimate change orders, and support job profitability.

Assist in maintaining and improving estimating templates, standard pricing, and cost databases.

Document all critical project details thoroughly and consistently.

Represent the company at trade shows and industry events to maintain visibility and build professional relationships.

Participate in ongoing professional development and continuous improvement efforts.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in mechanical or systems engineering, preferably within paint finishing systems or related industries.
- Experience in developing proposals for large-scale or custom-engineered systems.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.

Strong understanding of paint finishing system design, applications, and cost drivers.

Ability to apply engineering principles to solve complex estimating challenges.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility preferred.

Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
