- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and implement mechanical systems for various projects.
- Utilize SolidWorks to create detailed designs, models, and drawings.
- Update and improve existing designs to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Actively participate in project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure timely completion and delivery.
- Engage with customers to understand their requirements, provide technical support, and address any concerns.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Take initiative in problem-solving and troubleshooting, while also being receptive to new ideas and approaches.
- Embrace a culture of continuous learning, proactively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge and skill set.
- Adhere to industry standards, regulations, and best practices in all aspects of design and engineering processes.
- Create technical specs to meet requirements from customers and then bring those to life
- Coordinate manufacturing and testing - to stay on time / schedule based on customer timeline
- Facilitate project discussions - will be leading some projects and will have meetings with other internal parties to check in on timelines etc
- Create BOM's based on materials needed and details provided by the client
- BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering plus 1-3+ years of professional experience (MECOP/internship experience may be considered if relevant)
- Proven skill using SolidWorks or Inventor, particularly designing fixtures
- Understanding of various manufacturing processes as well as material considerations (carbon, graphite, composites, alternative materials); experience working in a manufacturing/production environment
- Great communication skills to be utilized internally and externally with customers and vendors
- Project management capabilities to facilitate project schedules, budgets, and coordination activities

Actalent is currently interviewing for a Mechanical Engineer spot working at a local client site in Portland Metro. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical processes, with proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with AutoCAD as a plus.
