  Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

  Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer or Designer to support our backlog of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects.
  • You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including those for the VA, OGS, correctional facilities, UB expansions, and state parks.
  • Your role will be pivotal in assisting with new projects and managing existing workloads.

  Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and layout of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems using Revit.
  • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and duct/piping sizing.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Support senior mechanical engineers with energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis for mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Conduct field site visits during the design phase to document existing conditions and ensure compliance.
  • Provide construction administration support including submittal review, RFI responses, periodic site visits, and punch listing.

  Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering or design.
  • Ability to work semi-independently with minimal guidance.
  • Experience with mechanical design, specification writing, and understanding of building codes.
  • Proficiency in plumbing design, drafting, HVAC, and fire protection.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of NYS Building Codes and industry-standard design recommendations.
  • Experience designing mechanical systems from the pre-schematic phase.
  • Proficiency in energy modeling analysis, energy code compliance calculations, and life cycle cost analysis.

  Work Environment

  • The position requires occasional travel with GSA mileage rate reimbursement.
  • The work environment is one that values company culture and encourages independence.
  • You will have two direct reports and initially need to start working in the office.

  Pay and Benefits

  The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
