- Monday – Friday (7:00am to 3:30pm)
- $27.81- $40.58 per hour *Depending on experience and Mechanical Engineer Level*
- Mechanical Trade Qualified (NZQA or Equivalent) Level 3, 4 or 5 as, electrical, diesel, fabrication, coach builder, mechanical, pneumatic, automotive mechanic or similar
- Previous exposure to a heavy trade or automobile industry, machine upgrades, or experience working with wagons, locomotives, ships or similar is ideal but not essential
- Ability to evaluate and interpret hydraulic & pneumatic control diagrams, electrical schematics and enjoy fault finding and process improvement
- Knowledge of relevant Engineering specifications and sound engineering practices
- High level of physical fitness, team spirit and be Health and Safety focused

What you’ll do:
Working as a Mechanical Engineer Tradesperson, you will be kept busy in our depot with the inspection, servicing and maintenance of our rolling stock fleets, predominantly Wagons, Locomotives and Passenger The primary focus of this role is to carry out the various maintenance checks and repairs as set out in the Maintenance Plan to the standards required in the Mechanical Codes and Instructions, ensuring the assets reliability and availability.
