- Understanding of military specifications and environment desired, MIL-STD-100 preferred. ASME Y14.5 standard desired.
- Experience with test equipment a plus.

JOB SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will carry out engineering assignments concerned with the planning and design of mechanically functioning equipment and processes. Responsible for monitoring production, installation, operation, maintenance, test and repair of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and processes.
Strong computer and writing skills required. Prefer experience with Solidworks CAD and knowledge of manufacturing. “Hands on” skills encouraged. Assist Engineering department with on-going programs by completing engineering related tasks. Tasks may include CAD work, design and analysis, as well as hardware integration and testing. Assist in revising and creating process plans, standard work and other process documentation items. Experience with test equipment a plus. Must have good communication skills. Looking for a hands-on team player.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Current Student in a local college or university (BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering). Must have completed two years of college courses in Mechanical Engineering. Completion of three years preferred. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better is preferred.
INTERACTIONS
Will be required to interface and relate well with all employees and multiple departments and levels within the Company. Position requires strong teamwork/cooperative abilities, as well as the ability to work independently. May interact with other department members within the Company, such as Quality, Production Control and Engineering personnel.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Position involves sitting, standing and/or walking. Position requires ability to frequently exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work area subject to both Air Conditioning and Non-Air Conditioning.

Full-time or part-time availability (M-F) with a minimum 20 hours per week.Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $20.10/hr. - $30.10/hr.
