      Mechanical Engineering Technician

      Location: Long Island City, NY (Onsite)

      Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

      Compensation: $24–$35 per hour, commensurate with experience

      We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our innovative engineering team.

      This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong experience in mechanical systems, testing, and fabrication.

      You will play a key role in supporting product development, prototyping, and testing in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

      Top Must-Have Qualifications

      To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following:

      • Controller Programming Experience: Proficient in Mitsubishi and/or Arduino platforms
      • CAD Proficiency: Skilled in AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks with the ability to create 3D models
      • 3D Printing Knowledge: Hands-on experience with additive manufacturing technologies
      • Test Equipment Familiarity: Able to operate and interpret data from torque, force, and temperature instruments
      • Precision Measurement Skills: Proficient with calipers, micrometers, protractors, and other precision tools
      • Tooling & Fixturing Experience: Capable of designing and assembling custom fixtures and jigs
      • Machine Shop Expertise: Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and operating shop machinery
      • Technical Reporting: Ability to document test procedures and results clearly and accurately

      Key Responsibilities

      • Program and troubleshoot controllers, including Mitsubishi and Arduino platforms
      • Design and modify mechanical components using AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks
      • Operate and maintain machine shop equipment including milling machines, drill presses, and CNC tools
      • Conduct mechanical and electrical testing using torque, force, and temperature measurement equipment
      • Interpret and record data from various gauges and instrumentation
      • Utilize 3D printing technologies for prototyping and development
      • Fabricate and assemble tooling and fixtures to support testing and production
      • Prepare detailed technical reports documenting test procedures, results, and recommendations

      Required Experience

      • 3–4 years of experience in a mechanical or engineering technician role
      • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tooling, and fixturing
      • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $60.10/hr.
