- Freon handling license, desired but not required
- minimum of five year’s previous experience in heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC) work
- work experience in plumbing
- work experience in maintenance work, desired but not required
- work experience in locksmith work, desired but not required
- Function as district HVAC technician – boilers, furnaces, air conditioning systems and all other HVAC equipment.
- Maintain buildings and equipment to state and local standards.
- Perform routine work, repair, or service tasks in the following general types of work: a. heating and air conditioning b. plumbing c. carpentry d. painting e. electrical f. machinery repair g. relocate school equipment h. custodial
- Organize work to respond to Maintenance Request Forms within reasonable timelines and in a priority order, as determined in consultation with supervisor.
- Make arrangements, per district requirements and procedures, for contracted services as needed for buildings and equipment repair and/or service.
- Implement and maintain a preventive maintenance system.
- Keep records of maintenance activities, including service work to vehicles.
- Communicate equipment and supply requirements to immediate supervisor on a timely basis to allow for as much long-range planning as possible.
- Assist in seasonal outside work as may be necessary or directed.
- Assist in preparing Branch ISD buildings in early morning as may be requested by administration or custodial/maintenance staff.
- Respond to after-hours alarms and emergency calls.
- Maintain district lock and key system including obtaining training in locksmith work as needed.
- Obtain and maintain a forklift operator license.
- Carry a cell phone for communicating with district staff.
- Upgrade skills by attending technical classes, as directed.
- Keep maintenance shop area of maintenance garage organized and clean.
- Job Description Branch ISD operates Branch Area Careers Center, Special Education, Head Start, Early Head Start, Great Start School Readiness, Early On and the Family Success Program to three constituent school districts and one public school academy.

This is a part time position. Monday through Friday, 4 hours per day.
