      Basic Job Functions:

      The role of the Mechanical Technician consists of, but not limited to, providing preventative maintenance support and day to day repairs to support mill operations, basic knowledge of cooling, lubrication and environmental control systems, overhead cranes. equipment alignments, water treatment, welding, and fabrication. Must be able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and willing to learn the position of Millwright with expectation to apply for all dept shift millwright positions.

      Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      1. Must have basic hydraulic skills
      2. One year industrial maintenance experience
      3. Must be able to exhibit basic piping and plumbing skills
