  Job Title: Mechanical Test Engineer

  Job Description

  We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering professional to join our team. This individual will support engineering functions, particularly in design and testing, within the Mechanical department. The role involves collaborating with other engineers to address peaks in engineering needs, with a focus on creating CAD models, developing test plans, and supporting testing activities.

  Responsibilities

  • Modeling in Siemens NX to create CAD models and drafting part drawings.
  • Identifying risks, proposing solutions, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Investigating problems and failures during development and testing.
  • Generating analysis reports and creating mechanical test plans and reports.
  • Writing test plans and understanding instrumentation equipment for testing.
  • Supporting testing on the floor, which may require comfort with shift work.
  • Writing test reports and analyzing data to provide insights.
  • Identifying parts needed for assembly and performing hand calculations.

  Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience planning, executing and analyzing Mechanical Tests
  • Experience with Mechanical Testing procedures.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Ability to write and execute test plans and analyze data.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with test instrumentation equipment such as strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples, and thermistors.

  Work Environment

  The work environment is collaborative, with regular hours of 40 hours per week. Team members are typically in the office three days a week, with some flexibility to work from home if the project demands it. Core hours are from 9 am to 3 pm, with a business casual dress code. The atmosphere is collegial, encouraging teamwork and peer reviews.

  Pay and Benefits

  The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.

  This is a hybrid position in Brampton,ON.
