Toledo Clinic's Family Practice office, located on Park Center Court in Toledo, is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist. Hours are Mon/Wed/Fri (8:30-5:00) and Tues (7:45-3:00) Qualified candidates will have front office experience working in medical office. There are no weekends or holidays.
General Summary:
Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office.
Works under the supervision of the Physician/Office Manager.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
1) Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
2) Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc.
3) Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications.
4) Updating insurance information.
5) Answering general patient questions.
6) Taking messages accurately and relaying to appropriate personnel.
Other Essential Duties May Include ( but are not limited to):
7) Collecting co-pays.
8) Preparing and/or submitting charge tickets.
9) Preparing and cleaning exam rooms.
10) Sorting, filing and scanning patient charts.
11) Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Required:
- Excellent communication, phone, and organizational skills required.
- Computer skills helpful.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Adheres to all Toledo Clinic Policies and Procedures.
Education:
- HS diploma or GED.
Preferred:
- Previous clerical experience in a Drs. office preferred .
