Job Description

- Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing events and mailers (Welcome bags for FAMs, media mailers for activations, etc.).
- Contribute to the coordination and logistics for press-FAMS trips and One-Off visits (Restaurant reservations, transportation schedules, tour reservations, etc.)
- Traditional and social media monitoring for potential issues and hot topics.
- Manage and support financial matters for the department, including:
- Expense/Receipt reconciliation for FAMs and One-Off trips. Manage expenses on the Nexonia platform and provide backup documentation to the accounting department.
- Invoice revision and uploading in the financial platform when needed
- Minor budget processes as a support to the area of work
- Assist with social media monitoring and publications for local industry social channels.
- Support the Senior Media Relations Coordinator and additional coworkers when they are in the field hosting FAMs or during a special event or activation.
- Assist with content collection and backup documentation for regular reports (Communications Dashboard, PRTC Quarterly Report, MSAC, Industry Updates, BOD Meetings, ARP reporting, Industry Update Newsletter, etc.)
- Manage the Public Relations events calendar and update it accordingly.
- Review the Public Relations presentations and ensure they are branded.
- Support with editing press and related materials as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2+ years of related experience experience.
- Proven knowledge of project management.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills required, with the demonstrated ability to write for various audiences in multiple formats.
- Detail and process-oriented, organized, resourceful, and initiative-driven.
- Able to handle multiple projects gracefully and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with strong follow-up skills.
- Strong understanding and experience of social media across all platforms.
- Poised, professional, proactive, positive attitude and a passion for Tourism and Puerto Rico.
- Strong interpersonal skills are required, with a win-win approach to collaboration and relationship-building.
- Proficient in Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Knowledge of Operating systems such as Windows or Mac.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish)
- Must be available to work in the evenings and/or weekends if there is a particular necessity or event.
- Available to travel off-Island if there is a specific need
- Able to work in a diverse, inclusive, and dynamic environment
Media Relations Coordinator
Overview
The Media Relations Coordinator will work closely with the Public Relations Team to provide high-level organizational support and contribute to the logistics for media FAM trips, activations, and media relations initiatives. Additionally, the person will maintain the department's official databases, sources, and credentials.
