      About the role

      We have an exciting opportunity to join our Waitrose Media team as a Media Sales Manager. As a Media Sales Manager you will be the primary point of contact between our supply base and Waitrose for supplier-funded advertising campaigns.

      The role involves management of a roster of suppliers, strategically selling and planning media activity based on committed spend, as well as proactively pitching for additional (incremental) revenue around opportunities outside of their core annual plan.

      Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to

      Shape activity for Suppliers in support of their annual business plans by negotiating annual media plans, thereby booking revenue into gross margin.

      Work with wider team and management to deliver the Waitrose Media revenue goals every promotional period against each asset.

      Manage consistent financial control on rate cards, discount structures across all assets

      Internal stakeholder management (particularly buying offices) to ensure media activity is consistent with Commercial plans and supplier strategy, that media is prioritised within a trading context, and that media income is reported accurately

      Ensure all bookings are registered and accurate against our bookings tracker in order for campaign execution to run effectively.


      Essential skills and experience

      • A knowledge of marketing assets and their role in achieving marketing objectives

      ● Commercially driven with proven experience working to sales targets

      ● Experience of pitching, the negotiation process

      ● Substantial influencing skills

      ● Experience planning media or marketing activity

      ● Experience of situations which require a high degree of initiative and self-starter capability

      ● Experience of shaping clear outcomes from ambiguous and vague situations

      ● Knowledge of the retail grocery market


      Desirable skills and experience

      ● Any exposure to modern Retail Media systems and ways of working (e.g programmatic / self-serve buying platforms) a plus, although not essential

      ● Any exposure to working with media agencies a plus, although not essentia l
