- The alignment of scientific content with the commercial strategy
- The briefing and provision of data to the medical and commercial teams
- The scientific review of materials for copy approval process
- Input into the medical budget and track on a regular basis
- Scientific review of IME and Grants & Donations requests and contribution with GSK Med Edu projects
- Analyse and review GSK and competitor respiratory products, making recommendations, which assist marketing in the determination of current and future strategic direction.
- Input into the medical quarterly respiratory therapy area reviews and the medical business plans for your aligned therapy area e.g. COPD, Asthma or Severe Asthma. This should be delivered through the co-create process, working closely with the local commercial and global medical teams to ensure timely input and review.
- Deliver training and briefing presentations for internal stakeholders, to ensure scientific data and medical concepts are understood and consistent with the commercial strategy.
- Brief information out to internal stakeholders for regulatory or safety changes to GSK medicines within your aligned therapy area, keeping them up to date with important clinical information on GSK medicines.
- Input into the preparation of tailored responses from a medical/ scientific view to support market access issues for a defined product in a particular geographical areas/CCGs, hospital trusts etc.
- Input into the Evidence Generation process to identify local data needs and options for generating evidence, including in the planning of clinical trials ensuring that they are aligned to short- and long-term business needs. Communicating these needs and requirements into the global medical team/ brand planning. Lead the identification of opportunities for the interpretation of trial results for local commercial benefit.
- Through attendance at congress and customer meetings:
- Increase your knowledge within your aligned therapy area and understand any challenges which influence the positioning of GSK medicines.
- Support the delivery of scientific engagement and increase the scientific/ clinical understanding and positioning of GSK medicines. This insight should be used to ensure that GSK medicines are used appropriately and benefit patient care.
- Develop networks across clinical, R&D and the wider global respiratory team
- A GMC registered medical doctor or GPhC registered pharmacist
- Previous experience working as a nominated ABPI signatory OR significant experience working within UK Pharma with strong familiarity with and confidence in the ABPI Code of Practice and its application, specifically in the generation, review and sign off of promotional and non-promotional materials
- Therapy knowledge in Respiratory
- Be able to interpret scientific data and information on pharmaceutical products, and to communicate this information in such a way as to enhance current strategic and promotional and non-promotional activities
- Pharma customer facing experience particularly in respiratory field and NHS
- Be able to review promotional and non-promotional materials within agreed timeframes with maximum accuracy
- Confidence in decision making, problem solving capability and ability to rationalise, and document carefully evaluated decisions
- Focused on people culture and team development
- Structured mindset, proactive, self-motivated and self-reliant
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload, and think clearly under pressure and time constraints and work with pace and focus in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to facilitate internal relationships across disciplines and network within both the UK company above country functions and the external stakeholders.
- Clear communicator with sufficient business acumen and experience to enable communication and engagement with key stakeholders supported by influencing, challenging and negotiating skills.
- Be flexible and sensitive to the needs of others to deal with urgent matters as they arise, such as complaints on promotional items, unfavourable articles, or drug safety issues.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work proactively and with a minimum of supervision are required
