- Management of clinical stakeholders and KOLs, building networks and maintaining relationships. Be the primary communicator of Abbott Science with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders as peer-to-peer scientific experts
- Combining clinical expertise with business acumen and business development to serve as a conduit of information to multiple cross functional external and internal stakeholders
- Generate proof of Health Economic Outcomes and cost reductions for key brands in the product portfolio
- Expertise of guidelines, funding mechanisms, workflow management and clinical pathway acceleration
- Collaborate with the commercial team, build medical strategy and providing clinical and scientific data for the products
- Enabling strategic business success by developing and providing medica, clinical and scientific support to the UK & ROI Commercial team
- Leads as a scientific resource to commercial partners as appropriate to support such activities such as congress staffing, advisory boards and training (internally/externally)
- Generate evidence of Health Economic Outcomes and cost reductions for key brands in the product portfolio
- Preferred educational background: PhD, or MD, or degree in Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry or a diploma or a degree in Infectious Diseases
- Extensive experience in the diagnostics or related industry
- Leadership and People Management skills
- Thorough knowledge of UK healthcare industry, NHS and private healthcare providers
- Combining clinical expertise with commercial acumen
- Demonstrable track record in building networks and maintaining relationships
- Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
- Able to discuss studies’ methodology (protocol content, definition of relevant end-points etc) with scientific/medical audience
- Entrepreneurial drive, in a dynamic and matrix environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with commercial and internal colleagues
- Communication and presentation skills

The Opportunity
Infectious Diseases Developed Market (IDDM), part of ARDx business, are recruiting for a Medical Affairs Manager based in UK, who will primarily support UK & Ireland but also other European countries based on business requirements.
We are looking for a real leader, who will be able to build peer-to-peer relationships with the KOLs and the Health Authorities stakeholders as well as to manage clinical studies and have a strategic vision of the future for diagnostics and tests. Some of the main objectives (but not limited to) of the role:
This is a field-based role so frequent UK travelling is anticipated with some European travelling as well.
