Job Description

- You will be responsible for driving development of Medical Affairs Plans (manage inputs from GMAL and team, contribute to and challenges strategy and tactics; and ensure Medical Affairs plan alignment with overarching disease area plans)
- You will manage logistics for cross-functional teams, medical advisory boards and related activities under the supervision of the Program Head
- You will coordinate medical congress activity
- You will drive development of variable budget on the basis of Medical Affairs plan and the development of business case(s)
- You will monitor and manage variable budget on an ongoing basis
- You will assist in monitoring and reporting the Evidence Generation budget in partnership with the Research Director
- You will ensure appropriate resourcing for GMAL team and requirement from supporting groups
- You will ensure on-time progress in all areas where the Disease Area Head/GMAL is accountable
- You will s upport development and reporting of performance metrics and asset updates in collaboration with Business Performance and Engagement Role and Business Operations
- You will partner with GMAL and Program Head around required preparations and material for key activities and engagements
- You will manage vendor relations/engagements
- Bachelor’s degree in science, pharmacy or nursing
- Minimum of 3-7 years experience within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Medical Affairs. Other industry experience can also be relevant if strong project management skills have been proven
- At least 2 years of Project Management experience
- Knowledge of ADP/ Project management / Lean Sigma / business continuous improvement principles
- Understanding of core Medical Affairs processes (e.g. Medical Planning, Scientific Engagement Planning, Copy Approval) is preferred
- Analytical, logical thought process with proven track record of strong matrix management, facilitation, and project management skills
- Effective time management, ability to clearly identify priorities and manage multiple tasks
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, communication skills, strong collaborator/communicator
- Understanding of the lifecycle of pharmaceutical drug development and commercialisation
- Certifications in ADP, project/programme management and/or Lean/Six Sigma preferred. However, a track record of timely delivery of complex Medical Affairs / R&D projects would be considered
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and database management skills
- Extensive knowledge of the matrix operating environment and all the systems/processes required to drive successful performance
About the role
We currently have an exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced, high performing Medical Affairs team as a Medical Project Manager, reporting into the Head of Project Management in Medical Affairs Excellence.
This is a critical role which will be responsible for providing Project Management Leadership across Global Medical disease area and asset activities. This includes (but is not necessarily limited to) driving implementation of medical affairs and external engagement plans, budget planning and monitoring, performance metrics design and reporting, and providing additional operational support to the GMAT where appropriate. This role will initially be aligned to Vaccines assets, but will benefit from the centralized approach to Project Management in the Medical Affairs Excellence organization.
