      The Medical Affairs Project Manager (MAPM) is an instrumental role within the Haematology/Oncology franchise responsible for supporting the execution of the UK/Ireland medical strategy for marketed and pipeline products within a cross-functional team. He/she will be responsible for supporting the timely review of all materials against ABPI/IPHA Codes, execution of Medical plans on time, on budget and to strategy, while fostering true partnerships between external and internal stakeholders.

      With the challenge and reward of responsibility for multi-indication products and a very rich pipeline in Haematology/Oncology, the MAPM will proactively strive for success for our business and, above all, for our patients.

      Responsibilities:

      Medical Affairs is a dynamic profession involving interaction with a large number of internal cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. No two days are the same, and the role demands a flexible and proactive individual with a strategic mind and sound judgement to support these diverse needs. A strong collaboration is formed within a matrix team due to a solution-finding mind-set driving the goals of the business and improving patient outcome in an ethical, compliant way.

      The MPM will demonstrate excellence across the Medical Affairs pillars such as thought leader engagement, scientific exchange and medical education, with the internal matrix teams.

      Key roles:

      Majority of time on ABPI Code compliance related activities within Haem/Onc

      • Lead weekly signatory huddles, manage signatory tracker and allocate materials to relevant signatories (DASs, field medical or Indigo signatories) based on their capacity
      • Work closely with champions and ensure oversight of review/approvals of all materials related to Haem/Onc activities

      Other Medical Affairs projects e.g.:

      • Close working with designated Disease Area Specialists, Field Medical Managers and Medical Affairs Final Signatories to aid execution of key projects in line with Core company policies and country codes
      • Lead on the co-ordination and management of key medical meetings
      • Development of internal training and educational events for the Haematology/Oncology medical team
      • Medical Affairs project management and execution
      • Activities/projects aligned with own development (max 10% of overall time)

      Knowledge & Skills

      Core

      • Knowledge of UK Code of Practice with practical insight in UK compliance
      • Excellence in communication and presentation skills; fluent English
      • Willingness/ability to travel – (approximately ~15% travel nationally/internationally to attend external congresses, internal conferences, and HCP engagement activities)

      Desired

      • Knowledge/scientific understanding of oncology/haemato-oncology
      • Foundational understanding of the UK healthcare/scientific research environment
      • Project management and execution
      • Act as a nominated medical signatory, for the review materials and activities and ensure compliance with the Code of Practice and internal procedures

      Qualifications

      Core

      • Advanced scientific or clinical degree

      Desired

      • A registered physician or UK registered pharmacist is preferred. Exceptional candidates with a scientific background are welcomed.

      Experience

      Core

      • Ability to work co-operatively with others to meet group and organisational goals, to consistently deliver on commitments and communicate opinions, facts and thoughts with clarity, transparency, and honesty.

      Desired

      • Haematology or Oncology experience
      • Work experience of at least 3 years post graduation. (e.g., PhD, NHS, pharmaceutical industry)
      • Understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice
