      Role Overview - To process bills for medical assistance reimbursements for special-needs students. To assist with development of and record keeping of communication systems necessary to meet the requirements of
      the Medicaid Program.

      Minimum Requirements
      High school diploma/GED.
      Three (3) years of successful experience in administrative support, accounting or billing role and/or advanced training.
      Excellent reading, writing, keyboarding, and organizational skills.
      Excellent organizational skills.
      Demonstrated experience and skill in a variety of relevant software and electronic communication tools, including Microsoft Office, Google, and database applications.
      Ability to work independently.
      Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
      Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

      Preferred Qualifications
      Familiarity with Medical Assistance regulations.
      Ability to utilize and understand reference materials.
      AA degree in Computer Information Systems or related field.
      Effective telephone technique and communication skills.

      Role Responsibilities
      Plan In-service Medical Assistance Training for special education specialists, special education staff and support professionals.
      Provide on-site training as requested by special education personnel and school principals.
      Ensure 100% compliance with all state and federal audits.
      Develop and initiate procedures for accessing Medicaid revenue for newly identified billable services (i.e. health-related services under COMAR 10.09.50, service coordination services under COMAR 10.09.52 and Title XIX federal funds for Medicaid transportation services.
      Coordinate data match of special education students who are Medical Assistance recipients: includes accessing data match with DHMH and MSDE, Student Services Information Systems Student Listing and Exiting Student Services Information Systems Student Listing.
      Create school master lists of special education students who are Medical Assistance recipients for use by service providers and administrators.
      Maximize the amount Medicaid reimbursement and streamline efficiency of the process.
      Provide on-site monitoring of individualized educational programs (IEP) for documentation and compliance of regulations of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH), the Medical Care Finance and Compliance Administration (MCFCA), the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), the Office for Children, Youth and Families (OCYF) and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).
      Project annual revenue of the Medical Assistance billing for health-related services, service coordination services and transportation services of eligible recipients with an IEP or IFSP to the Director of Student Services.
      Write monthly reports to the Director of Special Education, the Director of Transportation, the accounting department, and Coordinator of Itinerant and Special Education Services in regard to the Medical Assistance services.
      Assist service providers and support staff with completing Monthly Medicaid Services Records as needed.
      Maintain records for auditing.Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public
